Deenadayal Trust aims a good quality education for the academic upliftment of the downtrodden children in the coastal area of the Engandiyur Panchayath. The Trust Renders Free Education facility to 50 students from LKG to Std. X by enrolling them in their CBSE School, Saraswathy Vidyanikethan Central School, which is governed by them. The Trust afford the expenses of free education in items like Tuition Fees, Books, Special Fees, Vehicle Facility, Uniform etc. of these children. Every year ten new students are enrolled in the school through this free education scheme. Presently, in this year the estimated amount is about 7 lakhs in total for this scheme.
Deenadayal Trust with the collaboration of Chaithanya Eye Hospital recently organized a Eye Medical Camp that provided essential health services to 150 individuals in the community. The medical camp was staffed with experienced doctors and health care professionals. Patients were able to receive treatment, medical advice and vital medications at no cost.
Culture represents the dignity and richness of every personality. Our Trust gives due importance to develop the standard of cultural life in the downtrodden population of the coastal area in the Engandiyur Panchayath. Trust celebrates various Cultural fiestas like Gurupooja, Ramayana Month, Vijayadasami, Rakshabandhan, Onam etc to encourage these people. Every year we arrange some programmes to improve the depth of culture in them. Moreover the cultural awareness classes are being given to the people around this area. During the middle of August, 2018 unprecedented flood affected our Kerala. Many students and staff of Saraswathy Vidyanikethan Central School, which is under the control of Deenadayal Trust was badly affected by the devastating flood. Four students’ houses were completely destroyed and three staff’s houses were partially affected. More than hundreds of students were affected by flood and all their belongings including books, uniform and all other household items were completely destroyed. As part of flood relief, Deenadayal Trust gave a monetary aid of Rs 60,000/- for each student who lost their house and also Rs.25,000/- for the staff who lost their house partially. The Trust also gave assistance to more than their 30 students by providing uniform, educational equipments and all other necessities which is required for their livelihood.
Cleaning equipments were distributed for all the flood affected houses by the Trust in Engandiyur Panchayath. The members of the Trust were totally engaged in the Relief Camp in Engandiyur Panchayath by rendering their 24 hrs service and the vehicles of the Trust were used for the rescue operations. First Aid facility was ensured in the relief camp by the Trust. The Trust members wholeheartedly participated in the cleaning mission after the flood crisis. The Social Service Sector of the Trust has been well reflected during the natural calamities like Okhi cyclone, devastating deluge and the pandemic situations in Kerala.
Trust gives importance to our cultural festivals, especially Onam. On that day Trust honours the poor and needy ones of the society by giving Onappudava and Dakshina. In addition to that, Trust also honours the voluntary organizations for their selfless service.
The Trust has granted financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakhs to Yadhukrishna O.M, one of our alumni, suffering from Bone Marrow Cancer. The Trust also extended its helping hand to a family for their daughter’s Marriage. The trust works towards the promotion of Sustainable Development.
Ockhi Cyclone devastated the coastal area of Thrissur District of Kerala especially Engandiyur Panchayath. It affected all the spheres in this area. Trust extended their helping hands to more than 100 families by giving them grocery kits. Moreover, the Trust also has given bed and cot to more than 10 families. The members of the Trust joined their hands to the cleaning process and gave them complete support to attain their life to the early level.
